
The wave-cut terraces on the south side of the Fort Rock tuff ring mark former lake levels of this now-dry lake bed. The age of Fort Rock has been estimated at 50,000 to 100,000 years. At its maximum depth, the lake was 200 feet deep.
In an attempt to reach a broader base of family and friends who might be interested in our journeys, we decided to use the Internet. It seemed more logical to inform folks that they could choose to read about our adventures by going online, instead of e-mailing numerous people with embedded images.
