In an attempt to reach a broader base of family and friends who might be interested in our journeys, we decided to use the Internet. It seemed more logical to inform folks that they could choose to read about our adventures by going online, instead of e-mailing numerous people with embedded images. It was presumptuous to think the correspondents we chose would be captivated by our musings. Warning ... this blog will have many illustrations! (TO ENLARGE PHOTOS, CLICK ON THEM!)
After a hike of three-tenths mile along the crack, we reached a saddle where the fissure had again filled with earth. There was still the semblance of a small, auxiliary crack to Carol’s left, but within 50 feet, the earth opened again!
